Warrenville Public Library District is seeking a part-time Technology Associate to provide technical support to staff, members and guests. This position assists with maintenance of computers, printers, mobile devices and audiovisual systems.

Requirements:

Associate Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience that includes:

· working in a customer facing technical support role in a Microsoft environment

· configuring and troubleshooting computer hardware, printers, peripherals and mobile devices

Other Qualifications Desired:

· Ability to perform complicated administrative and technical projects with minimal guidance

· Experience working in a public library or non-profit environment

· Knowledge of computer security best practices

· A+ certification, Network+ certification or equivalent experience

· Fluency in spoken and written Spanish

Candidates must have familiarity with Windows and Mac operating environments.

Qualifications include:

We are looking for a friendly, customer service-oriented individual with outstanding people and communication skills, strong computer skills, and excellent attention to detail to become the newest member of the library’s Adult & Teen Services Department as an Adult & Teen Services Library Assistant.

The Adult & Teen Services Assistant is primarily responsible for providing reference and readers’ advisory service to the public; assisting the public in using the collection; and assisting librarians with collection development, programming, and other duties.

There are openings for two year-round, part-time positions. Library Assistants will be scheduled for afternoons, alternating weekends, and some evening hours at an average of twenty hours per week. The starting pay is $16.00 per hour.

  • file alphabetically and numerically accurately

  • do detail work accurately

  • prioritize and multitask in a detailed environment

  • walk and stand for extended periods

  • lift materials and push carts loaded with books

  • adapt well to technological changes

This position is a year-round, part-time position averaging 16 hours per week. The hours for the position are Mondays 9-1; Tuesdays 1-5; Fridays 5-9; and includes Saturday and Sunday rotation of four-hour shifts. The salary is $10.20 per hour.

As part of a two-person team, you will experience working with preschool-age children, performing storytimes, and playing a pivotal role in a library’s outreach team. The successful candidate will perform exciting storytimes for children ages 2-5 at their preschools, and encourage the children to visit the library. This internship begins Monday, June 4 and continues until Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

Minimum qualifications

Position Overview:
