Description: The Des Plaines Public Library is looking for an energetic Youth Services Assistant practiced in public service to work 15 hours per week in a busy, dynamic, and diverse environment. The primary duties of this position are staffing the Youth Services public desk to provide reference and readers’ advisory services, assisting with our active teen volunteer program, monitoring our popular evening family storytime programs in English, Polish/English, and Spanish/English, and some collection development. Other duties as assigned.

Polish and/or Spanish language skills are definitely a plus, but please be sure to indicate any additional languages.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and one year library work experience with children OR two years college and three years library experience with children.
