The Villa Park Public Library seeks a versatile, service-oriented person to become our new Public Services Assistant in Youth Services. We are looking for someone who is energetic, organized, and excited about working with youth.

The job includes assisting with programs for young children and families, and working at our Information Desk. Typical desk duties include answering reference questions and providing computer support/troubleshooting.

Preference will be given to candidates with a background in education, business, or who have previous work experience with children and families. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

The Youth Services Assistant position averages 14.75 hours a week (29.5 hours per biweekly pay period). The position requires the following shifts every week: on Wednesdays from 12-5 pm; and on Thursdays from 1-9 pm. There is also one (1) shift every fourth week from 9 am-5 pm on Saturdays and one (1) shift every fourth week from 1-5 pm on Sundays. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, there are no Sunday shifts.
