20 hours per week. Must be flexible to work Monday through Friday daytime and evenings, as well as weekend shift coverage.
Starting salary $16.86 – $19.83/hour depending on qualifications.

We are seeking a creative, resourceful and engaging advocate for teens to work with us and our community. This exciting position will help develop and present interactive programs, contribute to outreach in schools and the community as well as assist teens in the Hub. As the library’s dynamic space for teens in Arlington Heights, the Hub is where they can hang out with friends, develop their skills as makers, express themselves and, most importantly, learn. In the Hub, we provide homework help, connect teens with library materials and produce engaging, hands-on projects.

This position is ideal for someone who is curious and creative.

Requirements & Skills: Positive and friendly customer service attitude in order to excel in Our Culture

Knowledge of teen literature. Experience with Mac and PC. Familiar with internet and web 2.0 tools. Effective communication skills to work with teens.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Group instruction experience
  • Previous experience with teens grades 7-12
  • Interest in working with tweens grades 4-6
  • Multilingual

Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.
