Education, Training, and Experience: High school diploma and any equivalent combination of education and/or training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities as approved by the Director. The Page Supervisor should have a working knowledge of library function and principles of supervision, and must be able to accurately file materials within the Dewey Decimal system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervises library pages; shelves and organizes materials:

  • Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, supervising, disciplining, and evaluating of all Pages.
  • Schedules work and maintains adequate and appropriate page staffing levels, coordinating daily workflow to ensure that library demands are met.
  • Shelves library materials in proper order.
  • Performs and coordinates shelf reading and collection maintenance projects to assure materials are in proper order.
  • Answers directional questions.
  • Assists in other activities as needed.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Performs duties in a climate-controlled environment. Must be able to push and pull library book trucks weighing 100-300 lbs. and carry up to 15 1bs. of books across the library. The Page Supervisor may stand for a long period of time in one area. Bending and stretching to reach high and low shelves is required.
