Part Time
10 hours a week for a 10 week assignment. Assignment is eligible for renewal for another 10 weeks based on performance and the intern’s availability.
$12.16/hour

We are looking for a reliable, dynamic, and motivated intern who wants to gain valuable practical experience with children’s programming and library outreach services.  This internship position will involve presenting and planning outreach story times at local daycare centers and businesses. We will provide training in structuring and planning story times as well as a background in early literacy programs such as Mother Goose on the Loose and Every Child Ready to Read prior to any field visits. Our intern will be provided with full access to our collection and storytime materials.  This position will involve weekly assignments which will  include morning and/or early afternoon hours based on our current needs. We will work around class schedules and pre-existing job shifts to the best of our ability.

Excellent communication and customer service skills are required. Knowledge of children’s literature or previous experience working with children is a plus. Candidates who are seeking enrollment or are currently enrolled in a library science program or early childhood education program will be given first consideration.

Applicants must have access to reliable transportation to conduct required site visits in  Forest Park area and nearby area.
