Position Title: Technology Media Assistant-Elementary
Supervisor: Building Principal
Primary Function: Support students and staff in the use of technology

Major Responsibilities:

Curriculum Instruction and Assessment
? Assist teachers in creating materials, tutorials and templates
? Work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff to plan and support teacher presentations and
student activities
? Promote the integration of technology in K-5 curriculum
? Demonstrate knowledge of curricular software and support its use
? Assist teachers and students in locating appropriate print and electronic resources
? Assist with the implementation of the District’s Acceptable Use Policy

Hardware and Network Functions
? Monitor the basic network infrastructure
? Demonstrate knowledge of setup and function of the building hardware
? Demonstrate knowledge of the use of all equipment:  printers, digital data projectors,SMART Boards, iPads, laptops, desktops,       and Chrome Books
? Assist the District Technology Team with the maintenance of building equipment
? Help to maintain software and hardware inventories

Staff Development
? Attend required training sessions
? Assist in staff development activities when applicable
? Work closely with the K-12 Instructional Technology Coordinator to promote district wide technology

Library/Media Center Support
? Support the automation of the TRC
? Check in and process and shelve materials
? Assist with the circulation functions of the LRC, including the preparation of overdue lists and follow-up correspondence and           repair of materials
? Assist with magazine subscription services and inter-library loan activities
? Assist with book displays, inventory procedures, circulation records
? Help students with research and book recommendations

Planning and Coordinating
? Schedule the TRC/Computer Lab to maximize use and effectiveness
? Maintain procedures and order supplies for the TRC

Perform other duties as related to the position.

Proper Para Professional license required

Updated 9/10 Proper Paraprofessional Licensure Required.
Appropriate technology skills to help support the use of iPads, laptops, desktops and Chrome Books
