Description
 
The Office of Education and Public Outreach offers a wide variety of resources and programs for K–12 teachers and students through our Teacher Resource Center. We are seeking an Education Support Assistant with experience in library collection acquisition, processing and cataloging through a cloud-based suite of software. This position requires a person who is technically capable to learn a variety of software for database management, online entries, electronic payments and store management.
 
Responsibilities
  • Supports Teacher Resource Center with acquisition and cataloging procedures using online library web cataloging, and collection budget system
  • Organize registrations for our high-demand Science Adventures and Classroom Presentation programs
  • Manage the Lederman Science Center physical and online store, including generating reports, handling cash, managing inventory, selecting merchandise and communicating with vendors
  • Uses online databases payment systems (Elavon / Converge (formerly Virtual Merchant) and PayPal)
  • When necessary, cover the front desk of the Lederman Science Center, performing general receptionist duties
  • Provide varied support to programs

Qualifications and Essential Job Functions

  • High school diploma
  • Library Technical Assistant certification is preferred
  • Demonstrated competence with varied technical tools/skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient collaboration and communication skills
