Job Title: Part-Time Youth & Teen Services Associate

Part Time

Non-exempt, 17 hours/week. Schedule includes days, evenings, and weekends.
$16.00/hour
Position Description: 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide reference assistance and readers’ advisory service
  • Work on youth and teen projects
  • Provide instruction on the Library’s digital offerings and e-sources to patrons and staff
  • Participate in the operation of the Youth Services computer area
  • Keep current on age appropriate materials for youth and teen
  • Create attractive and interesting displays, bibliographies, pathfinders to introduce public to materials
  • Stay current regarding library technology and trends

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts or Library Technical Assistant (LTA) Certificate required
  • Library experience preferred
  • Ability to work with children in an individual and group setting, knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suites, ability to interact positively and effectively with patrons and co-workers of all backgrounds

Physical Demands/Work Environment

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. The job is performed in a typical office environment and includes interaction with the public in a library setting.
