Position Description: 

Do you have experience working with Mindstorms, Makerbot, or Scratch?  Does the idea of creating programs that empower youth sound appealing?  Then come work with us at the Schaumburg Township District Library.

Our ideal candidate will have experience creating and facilitating dynamic youth programs that engage our community.  The ability to work collaboratively is a must, as well as being creative and able to adapt to change.  We are seeking enthusiastic applicants who want to make a difference in the community.  The position includes public desk hours and off-desk time for planning programs.

Requirements:  Experience developing program and working with youth (ages 0-18); excellent customer services, communication and technology skills; a Bachelor’s degree and proficient knowledge of tech trends for youth.

Position Description: 

The Fox River Valley Public Library District has an opening for a part-time Shelver for our Dundee Library location.  Primary duties include shelving books and other materials, maintaining correct order and tidiness in the collections, emptying sorter bins, collecting materials from the on-site book drop, and shifting materials as required.

The successful candidate will be available to work a varied schedule as library needs dictate.

Schedule includes: Afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Additional day, evening and weekend hours may be scheduled as needed at the manager’s discretion.

Warrenville Public Library District is seeking a part-time library page. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals to ensure that the library’s collections are orderly and accessible by shelving material in its proper location and sequence. Duties include checking in material, sorting returned materials on carts, retrieving materials from book drops, performing shelf checks for materials, and other library functions as assigned.


    • 16 years of age or older.
    • High school diploma or GED, or current enrollment in High School.
    • One year successful work experience preferred.
    • Ability to sort and shelve materials in alphabetical and numerical order.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, in English.
    • Ability and willingness to adapt to change and learn new skills and technology.
    • Access to reliable transportation.
    • Ability to work days, evenings and weekends.

Salary from $9.00/hour dependent on experience & qualifications.

Position Description: 

Assists in providing a full range of services for children through readers’ advisory services and instructing patrons in the use of the library, its materials and services, and automation tools.  Assists in developing library programming for children, and maintaining youth services’ collection.  Deals with public on a daily basis in such a way as to promote good public relations.

Education/Experience: Associates Degree, LTA, or Master of Library Science students are encouraged to apply.
