Position Description: 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic person to take on the role of Patron Services Supervisor in River Grove, a west suburban town of about 10,000. The supervisor is responsible for the smooth operation of the circulation department, scheduling staff, running reports, and ordering materials. In addition, the Supervisor acts as a backup to the Adult Services Coordinator, fills in on the circ desk, and then there’s the all-encompassing “other duties as assigned.”

We offer a staff and patrons that are really nice to be around, the chance to be creative, the encouragement to try new things, and the opportunity to gain experience in a lot of areas.

This position reports to the Executive Director.


Excellent communication skills, commitment to superior customer service, ability to lift 25 lbs. Previous supervisory and scheduling experience is preferred.

Position Description: 

New position. 8 hrs. every 2 wks. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including every other Sunday and a 4 hour shift during the 2 wk. period. Will also serve as a sub. for the department.

Required: BA/BS in education, child development, or a related field. At least one year (may be school year) full-time experience working with children in a library, school, or related environment. Ability to work well with preschool through 6th grade students and their parents.

This position is in the very busy Kids’ Library, which serves children birth through 8th grade and their caregivers.
