RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to the organization of library materials through cataloging and classification.
  • Maintains the currency and accuracy of the online catalog
  • Adapts member copy and DLC bibliographic records
  • Creates and maintains records in the online databases
  • Identifies cataloging errors, enters new records and removes existing records in the databases
  • Participates in quality control by problem solving

REQUIRED SKILLS

High school graduation or equivalent PLUS any combination totaling 1 year from the following categories:

(a) work experience in a library or equivalent setting or general clerical or office/clerical related customer service experience

(b) college course work in any field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent

  • 30 semester hours equals six months
  • 60 semester hours or an Associate’s degree equals one year

NOTE: Part-time work experience will be calculated to equal full-time.

This is a security-sensitive position. Before any offer of employment is made, the University will conduct a pre-employment criminal background investigation, which includes a criminal background check.

  • Demonstrates ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Demonstrates ability to complete detailed tasks accurately

Scheduled work hours are Mon-Fri 8:00-4:30
