Position Title: Part-Time Collection Management Assistant

Department: Rolfing Library

Position Summary:

The Collection Management Assistant contributes to the Collection Management Division by ordering, receiving, and copy-cataloging books and e-books acquired by Rolfing. Duties also include taking part in broader Technical Services Department projects which require familiarity with acquisitions and cataloging principles and practices.


Place firm orders, create purchase orders, and receive orders in Voyager Acquisitions.
Copy-catalog new books and e-books.
Process invoices for books and e-books, office supplies, and miscellaneous orders.
Promote the library’s collections through book displays and social media.
Sort incoming mail.
Contribute blog post twice per month for the library blog.
Update spending spreadsheet and assist with monthly pending spreadsheet.
Organize faculty donations for ongoing booksale.
Contribute to weeding and quick-add clean-up projects when time permits.
Participate in other library projects as assigned


High school degree.
Exemplifies healthy balance of accurate and efficient work.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Demonstrates ability to work independently and to successfully collaborate on projects.
Uses inquisitive nature to identify problems and address them appropriately.
Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel, the Internet, and WordPress.
Previous experience working in libraries, preferably with library databases.
Desire to assume increasing levels of responsibility over time.
Knowledge of theological literature and/or theological languages is helpful.

Working Relationships:

The Collection Management Assistant reports to the Head of Technical Services. This position interacts with librarians and part-time library staff daily.

Work Schedule:

10-12 hours per week.
Hours worked within Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm timeframe.
