Job Title: Communications Coordinator

Hours: 37.5 FT | Work may require evening and weekend hours
$35,230.00 mininum starting salary w/benefits package
Position Description: 

This position involves using professional marketing techniques to coordinate Library promotional materials and communications.  This includes using both traditional and emerging media and ongoing public relations activities.

We are seeking an individual to create and post content for Library newsletter and other digital media, coordinate and promote Library-wide events and services, document activities, and audit communications.  This person will also participate in committee and project teams, as well as outreach activities.

Applicants need solid project management and organizational skills, knowledge of graphic design and marketing best practices.  Candidates should also have broad social media experience, public relations proficiency as well as exemplary communication skills, both oral and written.

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or LTA certificate.  At least two years working in a service oriented environment required; public library experience a plus
  • High level of fluency with traditional software and technology and the ability to adapt to emerging technology.  CMS and design software experience preferred.   Familiarity with HTML and CSS a plus
  • Solid understanding of current marketing strategies for libraries
