Position Description: 

The Palatine Public Library District has an immediate opening for a friendly, enthusiastic and service-oriented individual to work at both branch locations, and the main library as needed. Primary responsibilities include providing basic reference and readers advisory services to patrons of all ages, checking in and out library material, issuing new and replacement library cards, assisting with programs, and shelving library material. Position Description: 

Duties: Serve as the circulation staff resource for current and emerging technologies. Train circulation staff on circulation functions and other technology as assigned.

Manage reports as assigned.  Assist patrons and perform circulation duties.

Communicate effectively with patrons and staff, in both face to face and digital interactions.

Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills and computer skills. Prior customer service experience is required. Experience in a public library with a comparable ILS (SIRSI) preferred.  Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and orally.

Job Description Summary
The Boxer Library at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science invites applications for a part-time Library Clerk. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform all evening circulation desk duties:
•Check in/out/renew monograph, serials, anatomical models, and other circulating/reserve items;
•Shelve and help maintain Reserve Collection;
•Input new patron records and update existing patron records in Alexandria cataloging system;
•Assist with creation/maintenance of other basic catalog records;
•Assist with the processing of Interlibrary loan and print scanning requests;
•Assist with the maintenance of circulating and reserve collection;
•Assist with collection shifting, weeding, and other library space planning activities;
•Assist with general maintenance of library environment, including cleaning dry-erase boards, rebooting/troubleshooting computers, returning furniture to original location, etc.;

Required Education & Experience
